eBay, the first frontier of Internet Marketing....
Sell your ebooks and digital products cheaply and with an audience of millions....
Hmmmmmm, well, maybe not!
Now this is another one of those "I cant believe they are doing this" things.
In their wisdom, and to further protect the eBay feedback system, you will no longer be able to sell any form of digital download product on eBay using the Auction or Buy It Now format. Digital download products will only be allowed to be listed on the Classified format.
Read about it here: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200803.shtml#2008-03-24125416
I reckon it's about time to give up on eBay and find a new "IM Friendly" site.

Learning Curve
The funniest thing I have heard for quite a while is that schools and Univesities still think that they are teaching to industry standards, when they don't really know how the industry is changing.
I am doing a multimedia course, which I have been told will positively advance my online aspirations along. Now, this is with them knowing that i don't want a JOB in a comercial firm doing humdrum designs for a BOSS, instead I want to work for myself and do the extra things that I want to give to my work.
Apparently, according to the tutors, there is no other worthwhile or industry standard web design program other than the Adobe CS3 suite. Hey, guys, I have never used this program before and I have designed lots of sites that have worked quite well.
To say that we must use this, and no other program can be used is literally hobbling any students into a set system. So when they get out in the real world, and have to use programs other than CS3 or worse still, older versions of the same program, they are going to get lost.
Now, I do some coding in a text editor, some in a web design program that is set up to show the coding in different colours to make it easier. I also have an old.... read as before Adobe took over from Macromedia, and the set up is so different it's not funny.
Anyway, I am plodding along and I will learn the program that is industry standard, but I will not neglect the other tools that are available to web designers everywhere that don't cost a fortune for a small time business to buy.

The me day
Well, as I promised to myself, today was my ME day. I got up early and started to do some work on my own new site. So far I have done the graphics and the layout, set up the index page and worked out what other pages I am going to have.
Now, as per the artist site, it is all about content. This new site is aimed towards people who want resell rights products without having to join a membership site. It will have resell rights, master resell rights and PLR products on it, tips and ideas for generating traffic and sales of the resell rights products and resources for getting any resell project off the ground and successful.
At present, the timeline is getting shorter for this. Though originally I said it would be done by the end of Feb, I am now targeting the end of March as the absolute latest release date.
Stay tuned for more.

My time for a day
Phew......
Time out already!
Ok, the last couple of weeks have been really hectic with starting school etc, and to add to that this laptop has been playing up as well, needs a good makeover.
I have spent time all week doing school work and stuff for other people. I have done a really big assignment, helped my other half out with her school work and spent the last two days finalising the theme and scheme for an artists site I am doing (Just got to put some content in).
Well, tommorrow is now MY day. I am going to get up nice and early and focus all my energy and creativity on my own projects. I have a firm idea in my head on how to get my own new site off the ground, all I have been lacking is the time to do it, so tommorrow it will be done.
Bed time now.... catch you tommorrow with an update.

School Daze
Another week of school over, having a great time with it, but geeez there is a lot of homework. Spent 6 hours last night finishing a 12 page assignment on the elements and principals of design. It was a very challenging assignment as there were 8 different things for elements as ell as another 8 for design that I had to write up descriptions of, usage of and provide visual examples of them all. If that wasn't enough there were also another 9 detailed questions regarding the elements and design principals.
Anyway, I got it all done and I was pleased with the end result. Evn the tutor said it had the best content and layout of all the assignments, which does not surprise me since I did the layout using the principals I was researching.
On another note, I have finally decided on the colour scheme and base layout for a site I am working on for a glass artist. Should be really good when it is finished. I just need to get some more content from the client and it will be all systems go with that one.
We have a long weekend coming up here, so I will continue to make some inroads into a couple of site designs I have going and get ahead on another assignment I was given today.
