Harvey Segal's The Ultimate Supertip

A quick note to tell you, I just finished
reading a copy of Harvey Segal’s free traffic
report The Ultimate Supertip.

It’s been hailed as the greatest viral marketing
secret of all time and speaking of a marketer
of more then 10 years, it’s pretty brilliant.

I was expecting some simple one, two, three
rehash like most free reports out there but
some of the traffic techniques in here I
never even thought of.

That being said, if you’ve been looking for
a way to get some quality free traffic but
don’t know how you owe it to yourself to
pick up a copy of this report right now:

The Ultimate Supertip

Hey, What are you waiting for? He’s not asking
a thing for this report, not even your e-mail
address.

Go check it out.

I am still going strong

I have been so busy working on a couple of sites. I am remodeling my site at Aus Health Info to try and get it looking better, still have a lot to do on that. Going with a colour scheme of dark blue and orange which looks a whole lot better than it sounds. Also have to make the site more user friendly and put some more quality information on it.

I have also begun the final draft for a new site that will be for resell products for internet marketers. Wanted to do something a little different to all the subscription sites in this field so it will be a individual product type site with some really good products on it.

In the design stages which is my own personal site. This will be to showcase what I have been doing online, what I can do and will offer services to create and modify websites for anyone wanting to start out. It will also have a creative area that I will use to show what can be done in web design to help your site stand out from the crowd.

School wise, I have been busy getting my head around using CSS to create fully functional web sites to the xhtml 1.0 strict standard and my next few sites will be done using this very strict coding. I have also been learning how to use Photoshop a little better, how to do 3D modeling and also how to design for print projects. All very useful for where I am heading in my own online endevours.

On a personal level, I am back at the gym and doing a full weight training program. It's not that easy when I have so many other commitments but at the end of the day I am a large person and need to maintain my health, so its a case of just making the time every day to get back to being fit.

Thats about it for the moment. Not much else happening on this front. Will keep things updated as I go.

Just another eBay sorta day

eBay, the first frontier of Internet Marketing....

Sell your ebooks and digital products cheaply and with an audience of millions....

Hmmmmmm, well, maybe not!

Now this is another one of those "I cant believe they are doing this" things.

In their wisdom, and to further protect the eBay feedback system, you will no longer be able to sell any form of digital download product on eBay using the Auction or Buy It Now format. Digital download products will only be allowed to be listed on the Classified format.

Read about it here: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200803.shtml#2008-03-24125416

I reckon it's about time to give up on eBay and find a new "IM Friendly" site.

Learning Curve

The funniest thing I have heard for quite a while is that schools and Univesities still think that they are teaching to industry standards, when they don't really know how the industry is changing.

I am doing a multimedia course, which I have been told will positively advance my online aspirations along. Now, this is with them knowing that i don't want a JOB in a comercial firm doing humdrum designs for a BOSS, instead I want to work for myself and do the extra things that I want to give to my work.

Apparently, according to the tutors, there is no other worthwhile or industry standard web design program other than the Adobe CS3 suite. Hey, guys, I have never used this program before and I have designed lots of sites that have worked quite well.

To say that we must use this, and no other program can be used is literally hobbling any students into a set system. So when they get out in the real world, and have to use programs other than CS3 or worse still, older versions of the same program, they are going to get lost.

Now, I do some coding in a text editor, some in a web design program that is set up to show the coding in different colours to make it easier. I also have an old.... read as before Adobe took over from Macromedia, and the set up is so different it's not funny.

Anyway, I am plodding along and I will learn the program that is industry standard, but I will not neglect the other tools that are available to web designers everywhere that don't cost a fortune for a small time business to buy.

The me day

Well, as I promised to myself, today was my ME day. I got up early and started to do some work on my own new site. So far I have done the graphics and the layout, set up the index page and worked out what other pages I am going to have.

Now, as per the artist site, it is all about content. This new site is aimed towards people who want resell rights products without having to join a membership site. It will have resell rights, master resell rights and PLR products on it, tips and ideas for generating traffic and sales of the resell rights products and resources for getting any resell project off the ground and successful.

At present, the timeline is getting shorter for this. Though originally I said it would be done by the end of Feb, I am now targeting the end of March as the absolute latest release date.

Stay tuned for more.

My time for a day

Phew......

Time out already!

Ok, the last couple of weeks have been really hectic with starting school etc, and to add to that this laptop has been playing up as well, needs a good makeover.

I have spent time all week doing school work and stuff for other people. I have done a really big assignment, helped my other half out with her school work and spent the last two days finalising the theme and scheme for an artists site I am doing (Just got to put some content in).

Well, tommorrow is now MY day. I am going to get up nice and early and focus all my energy and creativity on my own projects. I have a firm idea in my head on how to get my own new site off the ground, all I have been lacking is the time to do it, so tommorrow it will be done.

Bed time now.... catch you tommorrow with an update.

School Daze

Another week of school over, having a great time with it, but geeez there is a lot of homework. Spent 6 hours last night finishing a 12 page assignment on the elements and principals of design. It was a very challenging assignment as there were 8 different things for elements as ell as another 8 for design that I had to write up descriptions of, usage of and provide visual examples of them all. If that wasn't enough there were also another 9 detailed questions regarding the elements and design principals.

Anyway, I got it all done and I was pleased with the end result. Evn the tutor said it had the best content and layout of all the assignments, which does not surprise me since I did the layout using the principals I was researching.

On another note, I have finally decided on the colour scheme and base layout for a site I am working on for a glass artist. Should be really good when it is finished. I just need to get some more content from the client and it will be all systems go with that one.

We have a long weekend coming up here, so I will continue to make some inroads into a couple of site designs I have going and get ahead on another assignment I was given today.

Amazing course

What else can I say apart from what an amazing course I am doing.

It is everything and more than I thought it would be. Teaching me a lot more than just the basics and will develop a lot of different skills that will be really useful for web design and graphics.

Have been way too busy of late to post on here, but that is partially due to time management problems which I am rectifying at the moment. Everything should be back on track by next week.

What a weekend

Ahhhh, what a weekend, I did not get a chance to put a post up on here all weekend as I have been trying to configure a new firewall I got, and it wouldn't let me do anything I wanted to!

Anyway, think it's working ok now.

Had my first day at school today, it was really good and I even learnt a couple of things in Photoshop that I didn't know how to do. Apparently this course is very much full on and will be taking up a lot of my time. So I will still be working on the online business AND doing all the school work.

Will update more tommorrow when I find out the full workload we are getting.

New Topspot list

You will have noticed that on the right hand side of this page there is something new. It is a linking widget called scratchback.

Basically, for $1.00, you can add your site details to the top of the list. It will then work it's way down as more people add their details above you, for a maximum of 10 spots, after which, you drop off.

Now, I can almost hear you thinking "why should I pay $1.00 to get a link from this site?".

I am glad you asked.

One of the great things about getting good traffic to your site is Google's method of page rank. This ranking system gets your site higher in Google searches, and others too, using a few different methods. One of these methods, and it is the one we are most interested in, involves working out how many quality incoming links you have to your site.

So this little widget will give you an incoming link to your site from this blog. Still sounding a bit "who cares" ish to you?

Well, this blog, which is reasonably ranking in it's own right, is also on blogger, a very high PR site that just happens to be owned by Google themselves! Now can you see why this is a good thing?

One simple small payment of $1.00 gets you a link from a googled owned, high PR site and that will help your own sites PR no end.

So try it out today, for a measly buck you will get a great link back to your site that will help your rankings in the search engines.

Sort of a day off

Well, I am sort of having a day off from the online marketing side of things today. I have a list of chores to do that just don't leave me the time to do the things I need to do with the internet marketing business, as when I do them I need to be foccussed.

I have picked a couple of resell products to use for my test from yesterday, and will focus my attention on setting them up tommorrow.

I start my Advance Diploma in Multimedia next Monday so I now have 4 days to get my resell rights efforts on track so I can plan out how to keep them moving while being at school as well.

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Getting together some products

I am now at the stage of getting together some resell products for the new site. Luckily, I am a member of a couple of sites that can help me out with that.

The next step is to list them on their own subdomains first as an experiment to see the best overall way to present them.

That stage of this plan will begin tommorrow.

Why I am trying so hard with the online business

This is what it is like in Australia. Though we are called the lucky country by most, and I will agree that we are perhaps better off here than some, it is still a country that is divided into the haves and the have nots.

At present, due to a few mistakes in my past and not being able to find employment, my wife and I are very definitly in the have not category. In the grand scheme of things, and trying to improve my employability skills, I am embarking on a Advanced Diploma in Multimedia to further my skills in regards to website design and implementation. My wife has already begun her certificate course in animal companionship, which will hopefully lead her into work with a vet practice where she can then go onto become a Vet Nurse.

We are only able to do this because we are living in my mothers house. Otherwise we would not be able to do anything. The Australian Government does provide financial support to people who are out of work, this is $420 a fortnight if you are single and $375 a fortnight if you are a couple. Not a real lot to live on out here in the real world!

So, because I am now doing a course that the Australian Government does not consider to be part of their unemployment approved courses, I have to apply for a different financial support payment called Austudy. This further reduces my fortnightly payment from $375 to $330! Apparently, as a student I need even less finances to live.

So, is Australia the lucky country for all? Well, not in our case, or many other people we know of. Ironically, the government has just realised that inflation is rising too fast so now everything is going to become even more expensive!

Though this may seem like a rant, probably because it is, all that my current situation does is make me more determined to succeed with my online business aspirations.

Time to get serious

It has now reached the point where I have to get really serious about my commitment to doing an online business.

I have done the background work of getting myself organised with my domains and moving everything to the one host, I have found a format that I am happy with for both the aushealthinfo.com site and the new resell site, and I have started cleaning out all the useless areas of the aushealthinfo site so I can begin it anew in a better direction than it is now going.

Next week, I start my advanced diploma in multimedia so I am going to dedicate this week to getting everything going as much as possible, and organising a schedule so I am able to maintain a focus on my online business whilst not dropping behind with my studies.

2008 is the year I make it in all areas of my life. Welcome to the journey.

The new look aushealthinfo site

Well, I have moved the http:www.aushealthinfo.com site to my hostgator account now, and all seems well with it. While I had it offline I was trying to work out what styling changes I could make to it so it looked better. So I am now using a new theme that I got from my good friend Bev Clement who runs the following successful sites:

And has been a great help and inspiration for me with my online business.

So go and have a look at http://www.aushealthinfo.com/ and see what you think about the new layout.

Re-educating yourself

Now why would a 41 year old be going back to school on a full time basis?

I have just been accepted to do a 2 year, full time study course for an advanced diploma of Multimedia at our local institute/university. I am doing this because I fully believe that you never should stop learning in life. I have always had a leaning towards website creation and all the different facets of it, so I am pursuing this through the above course.

At the end of the 2 years, I will be qualified in the area of designing and implementing multimedia in web design at a commercial level, which can only be a good thing in this age of having video and animation on so many sites.

I will be continuing my online ventures at the same time as my study, and will try to incorporate what I learn in my everyday design plans.

In the process of moving the aushealthinfo

In the process of moving the aushealthinfo.com blog to my new Hostgator web hosting account, I realsied that doing this sort of thing is not an easy task. It is definitly not a straight forward process to move an entire wordpress site, but I think I have done it ok.

  • First I saved the sql database that was for aushealthinfo.com on my old server
  • Next, I self installed the latest WordPress on my Hostgator server
  • Created the SAME sql database name and user name as the ols one
  • Restored the old database information to the new database
  • Copied across all the plugins and uploaded images from the old server
  • Then I configured the config.php file to the copied sql settings

Now all I have to do is iron out a few things that didn't quite work out as planned. But the site is up and functional.

Moving Right Along

There gets to be a time when you have to put in some serious time, thought and effort into working out where your life is going, where you want it to be and how you are going to turn it around so you can achieve your goals.

It starts with little things like a feeling of discontent with where you are now, constant thoughts that there must be a better way to live and having dreams thay just never come true. Well, everyone has these thoughts and dreams, it just a matter of working out how important they are to you and what you are prepared to do to achieve them.

Do some soul searching and see where it leads you. The only person who can change things for you, is you, so work out now what you want to do in life and how to get there. Then do it.

The end of a blog, but the start of a new one

Well, by the end of the month aus health info will be no more . After much diliberation and discussion, I decided that the site was too generic and not working as I wanted to. Out of all the projects I have done so far this is the least successful even though it has been redesigned and updated a couple of times and was targeted to the health group. Whoops, actually, upon serious thought and the light of a new day, rather than getting rid of it I am going to move it to my hostgator account instead and work something out with it.

That being said, I am now going to try and do a more targeted blog on weight loss using blogger rather than wasting more money without working out the viability.

We will see how it goes and work on the principal that it can always be expanded on in the future if it works out.

Now to de-link the search engines from the health site and redirect everything to the new site in the next week.

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Change of plans

You know what, after a long time of pottering about with a site that has cost me money, been unreliable and has not, to date, made a single cent, I am throwing in the towel on aushealthinfo.com.

I know a lot of people say that if you give up on something you may have been just around the corner from making it work, but after a lot of hassles with both my host for this account and my domain provider (not hostgator, another host), I decided to stop stressing out about it and move forward in a different direction.

Though this means dropping a PR4 site, I am of the opinion that it doesn't matter what rating a site has if it is not doing the intended job. For a site to be successful, it should be something that people use and utelise on a regular basis for the sites intended purpose.

Well, aushealthinfo.com is dead in the water as far as this is concerned. I have wasted enough time trying to get something to work that just doesn't cut it as far as what its intentions are.

So, watch this space as I will be getting ready to go in a new direction in the coming weeks. may not be immeadiately apparent what I am doing, but I have some brilliant people on my side who offer me help and support, so I will be getting to where I am destined to be within this year.

Health and Fitness Authors.

I have a site called Aus Health Info which is getting a face lift in the near future. The site is currently ranked as a PR4 site in google, and gets approx 200 unique visitors a day. It is health related with a new focus being on weightloss and fitness information, rather than general health.

I am offering any weightloss or fitness writers the opportunity to post articles on this site free of charge. The details and guidelines for this offer can be found at http://www.aushealthinfo.com/become-an-author-on-this-site and further details can be obtained by emailing Ian at aushealthinfo (at) gmail (dot) com

There is more than enough traffic here to get your articles seen and Google, as well as other search engines, regularly spider the site and an automatic pinging service and site map updater are in use.

The site will be focussed towards good quality information on weightloss techniques, fitness and exercise programs, good diet and eating tips and other fundemental principals of getting and maintaining good health.

I will also offer authors the chance to have their own bio page with pictures of themselves and a rundown of their credentials or history in regards to weightloss and/or fitness. This bio will also include links to the authors own website (no affiliate links and top domain only) which will also help increase search engine ranking.

I am hoping that with more authors and relevent articles on this site, we will be able to build the ranking and the traffic to a level where we become an authority site and can aid the internet community in their health and fitness related questions and concerns.

Look forward to seeing you there in the near future.

Stop, look and listen

I have been so gung ho trying to set up my new site that I have been missing the fact that I already have a site that needs some work done on it. The site http://www.aushealthinfo.com is a PR4 health related site and I need to start paying some attention on it as it already has traffic, just needs some focus.

So I have put together a new business plan for this site, and I am going to narrow it's focus more to weight loss and fitness rather than generalising it as a "health" site.

So, I am putting a hold on the new site, and changing it's launch date to March 1. Hopefully this will give me the time to focus on the health site a little bit more, and take some of the pressure off in regards to getting the new site up and running.

Only time will tell I guess as to how this will go, but unless you try things and persevere with them, you will never know.

Midweek stuff

It's Wednesday here, and I have had a busy day running around trying to sort out what my next move is outside of internet marketing.

I went to a new goverment service we have here in Victoria called Skills Store. Basically, their function is to go through all the stuff you know, and then let you know what you can do within the adult education courses to achieve formal recognition and certificates to help you find employment eventually.

It's quite ironic really that I knew more about the program my "assessor" was using than he did. And when we were going through all the skill sets I have compared to what I actually want to do, it was a total waste of time. But, as he wouldn't listen to me, he put it all down on formal paperwork and sent me off to the institute to verify what "I" had put down.

Even the people I saw at the institute cannot work out exactly what he has done, but they are of the opinion that I should study a certificate 3 in multimedia course. Now the multimedia course I refer to is all about website design and the surrounding components. I am not surprised that it came up as my best option, but on the paperwork that I got this morning, the "assessor" had decided that film and television was what I was best suited to!

Go figure that!

So now I wait until the Institute review all of my submission and let me know if there is an opening in the course.

Can't wait to find out what they make of all the stuff that I got done this morning. It is so frustrating when your future can be made or broken by the incompetence of people who are supposed to be there to help you.

Will keep this blog posted on what happens.

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Keep on going

All I can suggest to anyone folowing my pathway is to just keep on going. It all seems so distant, but it is really not. Do the hard work first and then when things are set up and running, it will be a lot easier.

Preparation is paramount, the more you prepare now the easier it will be in the long run, just make sure you don't get lost in the idea and forget why you are doing things.

I am a lttle behind on where I wanted to be at this point in time, but nothing a bit of hard work will not fix.

I am still on track for a mid February launch of the new site.

Another day

Another day over and what have we done? Well, actually I have done a bit of work on the site, and some work on trying to get my stuff together to work out where I am going in the long run.

Very tired tonight so am going to bed.

Sunday Evening

Well, it is Sunday evening here and I am tired and getting sleepy. It is still hot whith out a breath of wind to cool things down, so we have the fans going to circulate the air.

I decided to clean my laptop today, not the files etc, but the screen, keyboard and case. It is amazing and a little unsettling to see how much dirt comes off the keys when you give them a clean. I must try to clean it a little more often since I use it every day.

Have not done a lot to the new site today, just some general set-up stuff but nothing major. Tommorrow is the day I starting working out which products are going on it first and get them organised.

All is good, all is well.

As time goes by

Wow, it's 10pm on a Saturday night and I am hard at it on the computer working on the new site. Been at it for a couple of hours off and on, made some good progress with the download file add-in and got all the policy details sorted out and pages created for them.

Been sussing out some extra affiliate products for another idea I have that will compliment what the site is about. My not roll that part out until later, but it looks promising.

Well, back to it for a while I guess, keep striking while the iron is hot.

Still building

Well, that's January over with, only 11 months to the end of 2008 now.

Though I feel like I have not done a lot, upon reflection that's not quite true.

I have:

  • Joined a site that will help me achieve my goals
  • Registered a new domain in a niche I have wanted to try for a long time
  • Set a wordpress blog/CMS up on the domain
  • Started putting together the fundementals for the new site
  • Consistantly taken action to get my dreams happening

So all in all, I have done more in one month than I have in a year previously doing internet marketing.

I still know that I have a way to go, and that I have to build my site and get it going well to start really succeeding online, but I have all the faith in the world in myself and my ability to do this.

The site will be up and running in two weeks from now, so best I get my backside into gear.

A tiring day

Spent half of my day re-writing my resume as the agency yesterday didn't like the way it was set up. So have not had a chance to do much site wise. I did manage to do a bit of work on the Aus Health Info site, but still having problems with the cache for it, still not always showing the new site, just bringing up the old one.

It is driving me up the wall!

Will be renewing my focus on designing the online business as soon as possible because this is something I am not letting go.

Must take action!

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

On Hold

Well, things are on hold for the moment with the new site as I need to find a J.O.B. to pay the bills. Spent the day doing my resume up and went to an agency that may be able to get me some work.

Not giving up on anything, just prioritising things.

Update on new site

Arrrrrrggggggggggggggg, Wordpress drives me up the wall. I mean, how can everything look great on internet explorer and horrible on Firefox. It's all coming from the same CSS..... Frustration PLUS!

I am getting there however, have done my first draft pages for the home page, the how to use the site page and the about me page. Getting some friends to check them out and provide some constructive critique on them.

Now to do the hard work part and put the products up on the site!

Monday, January 28, 2008

Another busy day, but wierd too.

Well, had yet another busy day setting up the new site, should be up and running by mid February going by my R & D timeframe. Using Wordpress as a CMS for this site is a real learning curve. There seems to be a lot of variables that you just don't have to think about when using it as a blog.

All the different things in the CSS area really messes with you head in this mode, especially if you are used to html coding which is my preference. I am hoping that the supposed SEO benefits of Wordpress end up outweighing all the hassles I have had so far.

On another note, my site at http://www.aushealthinfo.com has been a total nightmare from this end of the world. My host (not hostgator, they have my new site and are great) swapped it to another server due to issues with the one it was on. I updated it and redesigned the look and theme for it. But now, even 2 days later, I keep getting the old site coming up half the time, even though it supposedly does not exist... Back to the host with more complaints I guess.

What a day!

What a day this has been, nothing but issues trying to get my Aus Health Info site up and running after it was moved from one server to another due to hosting issues from my old provider.

I have lost an entire day of R & D on my new site!

Not happy...

Thank god Hostgator is a better hosting company.

Hostgator Website

I have recently changed over to Hostgator.com as my web provider.

These guys are cool.

Though I didn't get my domain through them, they helped me to set it up really quickly.

They provide heaps of web space, an amazing amount of bandwidth and all the extras you could ever need, and all at an outstanding price.

If you are starting a new website, or have one already that is not performing quite as it should, then I would recommend you visit Hostgator.com today and make a change for the better.

I have and I am loving the difference.

Wordpress as a CMS

I am learning how to use Wordpress as a CMS. This means using it as a static content site which looks like a normal website instead of a blog site.

I found an interesting Wordpress template that is making it easier to get my head around the concept.

http://www.drikatruu.com/

It's free and easy to change.

Will be using it on my new site, will update how it is going on here.

Sick and tired

I am just sick and tired.... No, literally sick and tired. I have a cronic ear ache caused by an infection and just cannot function due to the pain factor.

Tried to do some work on my site to distract myself but have not been at all productive.

My thought for the day... If you are too tired, or not well, don't try to do too much as it just doesn't pay off.

Well, tommorrow is another day and the key is to just plod along and reach your goals.

Design matters

You know, a lot of people do not think about colours when they are designing their website. I mean, sure they choose colours that they like, but they don't really think about what the right colours can do for your sales.

Apparently the colour that is used most in the outside world (The real world) to encourage people to buy, is Orange.

I am working on incorporating this colour into my designs to see if this works on internet marketing.

I will get back to you on this.

Full Steam Ahead

Well, it's all systems go on the new domain now. It has finally finished moving the DNS servers and seems to have propagated through the internet.

I now have a place holder page on the domain to let any casual viewers know what is coming.

The page reads:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coming Soon

An exciting new website devoted to selling resell products online to make money.

You will find:

  • A wide range of resell products at a great price
  • Step-by-step instructions on how to use resell products
  • Resources to help you get started in resell product sales
  • Tips and techniques for effectively marketing resell products

Be sure to bookmark this page and check back soon.

Lets make 2008 your year for making an online profit.

Now is the time I will be creating the site to upload to the new domain.

Consolidating my future internet marketing direction

Today I registered my domain name for the site I am going to create to list all the resell and PLR rights products I have on my hard drive.

I will be realistic in this, I do not expect to sell everything at a huge price quickly, I am going for the stance of providing affordable resell rights products to people that want to sell a product but do not have the resources to create one.

I will also be creating my own products and selling them as resell items to help with viral marketing.

All in all, it has potential. Now I just have to organise the stuff on my hard drive and start modifying it. Not sure where to start, but probably some resell rights Ebooks first up.

I plan to eventually have a lot of products on here, like a repository of sorts, where people can come to find whatever they need to resell and to learn from.

Another step in the master plan has been taken.

A Tiring Day

You know what, if you spend all day sitting in front of a PC trying to fix issues and organise things, you end up more tired than if you have been doing manual work all day. But it is a different type of tiredness that is harder to overcome.

I looked through my typical Internet Marketers hard drive full of downloads and even I am amazed. In about three different folders, scattered through My Documents, there is more than 3000 individual products that can be resold.

These include PLR ebooks, master resell ebooks, articles, software, complete internet marketing systems.... It's amazing what I have in here.

So, the battle begins to work out how to organise them properly and what to start with. There is an old saying regarding downloaded IM products: If you don't take ACTION then you just have a hard drive full of "dust collectors".

So, time to organise and to take action. What will be the first thing? I will let you know when I do it, and that will not be far away.

Cheers

It's Friday! Yay!

Well, it's Friday today and that means YAY!

  • Not because it is the end of the working week.... I am not working.
  • Not because it is the weekend.... Got no money to do anything.
  • Not because it is time for the pub.... Hmmmm, don't drink alcohol.
No, it is YAY! it's Friday, because today my wife got accepted to do the course she has been wanting to do since childhood. It was a long road to get to here for her, but she did it and I am the proudest husband in the world.

That besides the point, we have been out and about all day, with organising (My language is English based, not American, therefore I spell things with an S not a Z) everything for her, but I have not neglected my own journey here.

Today I....
So all is not lost in my aspirations for the day :)

The hard part

This is where the self doubt and hard part comes in.

You are tired, feeling a bit lethargic, bothered by every day things and stressed out about finding money to put fuel in the car.

It can be hard to see the future in what you are doing online, especially if you are not getting results as quickly as you had hoped. Sure, internet marketing is not a quick and easy pathway to follow, but sometimes you just wish you could see some progress in what you are doing.

Countless hours on the computer when you first start out are normal. You are excited by what you are doing and everything is new. But like most things, the tasks can be a little tedious after you have done them for while.

Persevere and work your way through the doubts, eat properly, get some rest and maybe take a day off from what you are doing just to refresh.

Just don't give up!

A Slower Day

Had a slower day today, not much online stuff and had to go out and do some things in town. However that did not stop me from thinking about where I want to be or how I am going to get there.

I spend a lot of my day thinking of these things, trying to sort out in my mind how to progress without the finances to make big changes. I know that the popular opinion is that if you want something bad enough you will always come up with the money to do it, but sometimes it's not that easy.

My wife is trying to get into a course that will start her on the way to being a Vet nurse. It is something that she has wanted to do since she was around 4 years old but has never had the support or confidence to persue.

This, of course, costs money. We are really in a financial hole at present so we have to prioritise according to what will be the most benefit to us, both in the short term and the long.

My wife doing this course is something that is not only beneficial both to her happiness and her opportunities, but is also time sensitive so it has to take priority for finances.

So, back to the drawing board for me. I am now concentrating on how to make enough money online to build what I am doing, and then to increase on it until it is at the level I am aspiring to.

I have no doubt that I can do it, I have always believed that this is my pathway.

My Business Plan

Well, I started writing my business plan today, going through the basics of where I am at present and what my long term goals are for this business.

It's quite funny that when you have not been focussed and you put all the details of what you have done on paper, you find that things have been going rather slow compared to how much work you seem to have been doing.

A lack of focus can really stop you from advancing in any direction at all. Though I have made a few small sales, I can see now that they were more by good luck than from anything I did myself. I am so keen to stop making the same mistakes over and over and to actually focus on the one system until it works now.

Although a lot of people put pride in the way of admitting thier weaknesses, I now know that the only thing that has been stopping me from advancing is myself, my lack of commitment to furthering my education in this field and my inability to stop dreaming and start doing what I need to do.

That is all going to change now. I am going to work out how to utelise my time better and part of my business plan is to structure my work on this endevour and place specific timelines on it.

The countdown is on to being successful.

Stumble Upon

Today I learnt about the power of Stumble Upon and part of how to use it.

I stumbled some posts from my Aus Health Info site and watched the traffic explode going from my average of @200 unique visitors a day to an all time high of more than 500.

Now, the one noticable thing from this was that more than 200 of these visitors were only there for 30 seconds or less, which means that this technique is more of a scattered shot instead of targeted.

Also, it was interesting to see what the most popular pages were that stumblers came to. The number 1 page that was viewed was 5 common misconcetions about fatloss and exercise with more than dounle the next most popular page.

Next time I use this I will be trying to target it a little better and have something that corresponds better to the post to sell.

My goals

Today, the 13th of January, is my 41st birthday and a reflective time for me. I have decided to put down some of my goals on this blog to help me keep focussed on where I am heading and why.

My ambition in internet marketing is to combine my creative side and whatever skills I can to create an online business that will provide me with a full time income and let me do something that I enjoy as a job instead of having to work for other people in industrial areas.

My goal is to have a viable and profitable online business that has the capacity to expand whilst also having the tools and systems to be as automated as possible.

My commitment to this is 100% and I will make this happen within 2008.

My first goal is to have my existing website working correctly and making a profit by the end of January.

My first task, which I have scheduled to complete within a week from now, is to set up a business plan and a goal schedule and to begin implementing it.

Netwriting Master Course

I am using this post as a test to see if I can provide a download
file from my tripod website.

The download is a netwriting master course from the 5 Pillar Club.
Pease feel free to test this download and distribute this course
if you like. It really is a great course and can be given away to
whomever you like so long as it is not modified in any way.

The Netwriting Masters Course will show you how to "write
for success" and build a profitable, stable, online
business. It's very do-able... you just need to bring your
own brain power and motivation!

Best of all, this course is totally free!

This will take you to a download page. Simply click the icon and it will ask for a save location on your computer.

A busy day.

In anticipation of what is to come, I spent some time today organising my computer a bit better and trying to work out in my head my business plan.

I am sure that this is going to be the hardest part of the whole internet marketing thing as I am still struggling to come up with a business plan despite all the great resources that are available.

Oh well, I will re-read the idea of a plan again tommorrow and focus on getting it done.

A Business Plan

Today I am focussing on what it takes to come up with and implement a business plan. We all know that failing to plan is a sure thing in most failures, and I am determined to be successful this year in everything I do online.

The information I am getting from the private membership is amazing and I have already learned the basic as to how to create my business plan. I will be focussing on getting it all in order over the next few days and starting to action it.

Ahhhh, 2008, you will be my year!

A new start in IM.

Today I read some interesting things on a new private membership site that has been set up to help people like me who want to get into internet marketing but are not sure of the business set up required to be successful.

I have decided to devote this blog to my daily journey using techniques learned from this site, and applying them to other techniques and programs available.

Wish me well and let the journey begin!

My Mission

My name is Ian and I am going to be a successful Internet Marketer and become all that I know I can be in life!
